Join us for our Library Chess Tournament! Players of all ages and skill levels are welcome. Compete, learn, and enjoy a fun evening of strategic play.

Join us in the Whitehorse Public Library meeting room for a friendly, unsanctioned chess tournament open to all ages and skill levels! Players 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. 


Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers, and snacks will be provided for all participants. Bringing your own chess set or clock is encouraged but not required.


The tournament takes place on Thursday, October 8, from 5:00–8:00 PM. Come test your skills, meet fellow chess enthusiasts, and enjoy an exciting evening of strategic play at the library!

Tournament details:

5 rounds of play.

15 minute time controls. No extra time. 

Swiss system matchmaking. Points are scored by the winners of each round. Each round players are matched by point total. The tournament champion is the player with the most points at the end of the 5 rounds.
